what this usually looks like

analytics and attribution

GA4, Search Console, server-side tracking, and working out which signups organic search is genuinely responsible for.

integrations and automation

Wiring your CRM, billing, docs and marketing tools together so nobody is copying rows between spreadsheets.

performance

Core Web Vitals, bundle size, caching, image handling — on marketing pages and in the app.

migrations

Moving platforms, domains or CMSs without losing the rankings you spent years earning.

a second opinion

A proposal from an agency you want checked, a strategy you are unsure about, or a hire you are trying to scope.

the unnamed thing

The job that has been on the list for eight months because it belongs to neither marketing nor engineering.

how to buy it

Either a fixed-price piece of work when the job has a clear edge to it, or a block of days you use as you need when it does not. I would rather scope something small and finish it than sell you a retainer for work neither of us has defined yet.

If a job turns out to be bigger than it looked, you hear that before I start, not in an invoice afterwards.

a useful first step

not sure which of these you need?

Describe the problem in a couple of sentences and I will tell you whether it is a small fix, a real project, or something you should not be paying anyone to do.
